Ames has been practicing architecture in downtown Fort Worth since 1988 and is a Principal at Fender Andrade Architects. He is one of the five original members of the Downtown Design Review Board created in 2002, serving on the board for seven years with the final four years as chairman. Ames served on the City of Fort Worth’s Historic and Cultural Landmark Commission from 2003 to 2011 with the last five years as chairman. Between previous clients and the City of Fort Worth, Ames has been involved with numerous Community Facility Agreements and is familiar with management in the Water Department, Storm Water Department, Engineering (Sanitary Sewer), Traffic and Public Works – who control the pace of development. Additionally, he has a well-established working relationship with Oncor.
